Wool compost benefits

With Autumn just around the corner now is a great time to consider topdressing / mulching ready for next season.

We’re delighted to stock Wool Compost from Dalefoot Compost based in the North of England.

Potash rich bracken forms the base for all their composts. By blending Herdwick Sheep’s wool into their Wool Composts it gives it improved water retention and slow-release nitrogen. They have now added Comfrey – a ‘dynamic accumulator’ packed with nutrients into the Wool Compost range.

Many growers and producers of plants are now using Wool compost as an alternative to peat, with excellent results.
