Tree-time
As part of our ongoing tree festival in conjunction with Discover Scottish Gardens and with all the climate conversation, we thought we’d share what we think is so good about trees…
- They’re a great cleaner! Trees absorb CO2 which means they remove and store carbon but release oxygen back into the air
- Over the course of one year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the amount of CO2 produced when you drive your car 26,000 miles
- An acre of mature trees can provide enough oxygen for 18 people every year
- Like gardening, trees are great for physical and mental health. Studies have revealed that woodland helps general well-being
- They’re nature lovers! They are a habitat for a huge variety of wildlife including birds, bees and squirrels
- As well as providing a home for wildlife, fruit trees are a source of food for all sorts of animals – and humans
- They’re like a giant sponge… Trees filter rainwater which slows run-off and helps hold soil in place.
- Remember trees make a brilliant present to mark a variety of occasions and are great to buy for the people in your life who are hard to buy for!
Need we say more? Trees can be planted in even the smallest space so come to see us and find your perfect tree match.
