Team Talk – Meet Maria
Maria is one of the longest serving members of the team here at The Plant Market, having initially started working with Stan in 1992 with the launch of Growforth.
How long have you worked with the Plant Market?
Initially, I started working for Growforth which is our trade arm, in 1992. Then when Stan launched the Plant Market in 2012, my remit grew to include it. My role is looking after the accounts for both businesses and all the admin. I deal with lots of our suppliers and the nursery team are in and and out of the office a lot too so it’s really quite a sociable role!
What’s your favourite season?
It a toss up between autumn and spring. I love autumn with all the colours changing but the arrival of spring and seeing everything coming to life again is pretty special too.
What flowers and plants would you plant in your outdoor space?
It may surprise you to know I don’t have a garden but I get my mother nature fix at work! I do like trees although they’re not always practical to plant but for me it’s more about seeing year round colour. Plant wise I think a hebe is my favourite. I love the variety with the different colours of leaves so it gives you colour even when not in flower.
